Do you ever take a moment to think about the downsides of living in an overly digital controlled environment?
Like what will the future of society look like? What will the future of the internet look like?
Will we be able to outsmart SmartCities for example? Will we still have freedom to choose and decide what we want to disclose or not based on our own terms if we want to participate in modern society? I believe that’s a discussion we need to have yesterday and not let these important decisions of the future be made for us by Big Tech, Institutions, NGO's, Governments & Banksters. They have other interests and think of you merely as the product or something they want to control.
Your data is very valuable. Mind the Gap!
The user side and the corporate side are quite far apart. There is a lot of grey area that needs to become crystal clear fast. A lot of that has to do as well with the way we safeguard our core human right to Privacy. We need to zoom out and reflect and try to not get caught up in this hyper fast moving digital rollercoaster while we still remain completely human. I am not even kidding here. I will come back to this*
Take this example and see how the digital world is already taking over the way we live our lives. About 7.8 billion people are living on earth. The current number of smartphone users in the world today is roughly 6.648 billion people. That’s almost 84%. 6 years ago it was about half of that. The average daily time spent online (desktop/smartphone) is 3.2 hours. A decade ago it was a little over 1 hour (source: Statista.com). Where do we stand 5 years from now?
*World Economic Forum chairman Klaus Schwab is already openly speaking of merging man with machines, genetic editing, neuro-technological brain enhancements; shaping the Fourth Industrial Revolution/Transhumanism. On the other hand we notice the rise of Metaverses, CBDC’s, Digital health pass, Nanotechnology, QR codes for entrance, social credit systems, cryptocurrencies, wearables, NFT’s, robotics, 24/7 data collection/data surveillance, IoT, Facial recognition, VR, AR, AI. Is all of that innovation and technological development desirable and beneficial?
The interests of people & the ethical aspects may not be overlooked. Who sets up the framework within which the rules and regulations are laid down about how we deal with this? Are our interests taken into account and does it leave room for other interpretations (read: manipulation). As the World Economic Forum stated in 2016 in regard to how our world could change in 2030: “You’ll own nothing. And you’ll be happy”. Remember, it is mainly representatives of corporations with great interests and hunger for profit and power that are saying this.
Do you realize that the use of all these technological enhancements that are offered to you, the safety improvement services, the gadgets, these new and convenient free apps on your smartphone & by accepting all these internet “cookies” actually come with a prize? My mom always told me to not accept cookies from a stranger. Now that is some wise advice that I use to my advantage. You don’t want to get lured into an all-encompassing control grid now do you?
When that cookie suddenly crumbles in a few years there is a plausible scenario it can be a very rude awakening. Better to wake up now while you still can and do something about it.
Negligence in data usage can become your prison. We must get the user Privacy part right and underline the importance of a decentralized future and DeData.
It is not all about future dystopia that I am sketching here, I certainly see positive developments as well even though the world is in chaos as I am writing this. Heart vibration creates positive change. History has proven that. We just need to focus on what we desire the most. The energy around me tells me we won’t continue to opt for the existing, established power structures. We are at a crossroads, a social revolution. Power structures that worked well for decades, that want control over the masses are beginning to show cracks, they cannot move along with human intelligence and desire for joint decision-making. The shift from Web2 to Web3 has already started. Decentralization. People started this movement because they can envision and believe in a better future.
What we need now are ethical frameworks in order to keep our data safe and our privacy secured. We have to work towards ensuring that the data you generate remains fully in your control and that you determine what happens with it down to a fine granular level.
